Ruben Belloso Adorna – A Master of Pastel
Ruben Belloso Adorna, a Spanish artist born in Seville in 1986, is a true talent in the world of hyperrealism with pastels. He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, receiving an award for the best academic record.
🏅 Achievements and Exhibitions
He has received prestigious international awards: Best in Show, Bouguereau Award, and People’s Choice at the ARC Salon.
He was honored by the Pastel Society of America with the Kenneth Wellner Memorial Award (2018), and his works have been exhibited at the National Arts Club in New York and the Butler Institute in Ohio.
He has exhibited in New York (including Sotheby’s and the Salmagundi Club), Los Angeles, and Barcelona (MEAM).
🌍 An Ambassador of Pastel
Belloso Adorna has been the president of the Italian Pastel Society (PASIT) since 2014 and helped organize the first major international pastel exhibition in 2017.
He has also been a global ambassador for the prestigious Caran d’Ache brand since 2016 and collaborated with brands like Girault and Sennelier in creating selected portrait kits.
In Italy, he was awarded the title of Guest of Honor by the Pastellistes de France Association in 2015 and held a solo exhibition at the Musée Antoine Lécuyer in Saint-Quentin in 2017 – an honor reserved for only a very few living artists.
✨ His Style and Techniques
His artworks are living portraits of life: friends, family, ordinary faces – captured in every detail and with unique empathy.
His palette is pure humanity, expressed through intense gazes, textures, light, and shadow – turning pastel into a tool of visual truth.
🗓 Why He’s the Protagonist at Scuola Le Muse
Ruben is undoubtedly a cornerstone of our school: he played a key role in bringing soft pastel technique to Italy starting in 2013, and is affectionately known as “the godfather” of our artistic journey. His collaboration has paved the way for many other international artists.
A special event dedicated to him celebrates his extraordinary path and offers participants:
-
The chance to connect with a world-class artist
-
A concrete example of an artistic career built on technique, dedication, and quality
-
A unique and immersive experience into the beauty of hyperrealistic pastel art.
